Twist & Whorl - Our Spinning Series

If you've always wanted to learn the magic of turning fiber into yarn, Twist & Whorl - Our Spinning Series was designed just for you.

Over 4 sessions, you'll take a deep dive into various types of fiber (animal, vegetable, mineral), try your hand at ALL the tools (carder, drop spindle, spinning wheel and more) and learn how to confidently buy fiber at festivals. Each week includes hands-on learning.

This is a beginner/refresher series - all supplies and tools provided - but let us know if you have your own wheel, spindle and/or fiber!

Workshop: Embroidered Knit Ornaments with Beads - Sept 21st, from 1-4 pm - $60 fee Craft beautiful holiday ornaments with Betz White.

Learn to embroider on knit swatches using basic stitches. You’ll also learn how to add some sparkle and shine with beaded accents. To complete the projects we’ll frame them in 4” hoops and cleanly finish the backs with wool felt.

Palette Series: Using Natural Dyes

Each color on this vest was dyed using natural dyes, & we are excited to offer the FIRST dyeing classes as part of our NEW Palette Series!

Learn to capture nature's rainbow of hues in this class on natural dyeing. Over three sessions we'll cover how to prepare fiber to dye, explore several dyeing techniques ranging from sun dying in mason jars to the mysterious indigo pot, and experiment with a range of dyeing materials. You'll take home a color card with yarn samples, handouts with instructions and recipes, and your own set of mini skeins to make into something beautiful.

Day 1: Preparing yarn for dyeing, sun-dyeing, yellows and browns (Sat, Sept 21 @ 10am)

Day 2: Reds, oranges, and pinks (Wed, Sept 25 @ 6:30pm)

Day 3: Indigo and decanting the sun-dyeing jars. (Sat, Sept 28 @ 10am)

Class fee includes instruction and all materials.
