2/6/26 We are finally caught up on our back orders - thank you for your patience.  We are expecting another 90 skeins of custom dyed red wool yarn in the coming weeks.  Please place a preorder here, so you will be guaranteed a kit when it arrives.

*** If you prefer one pattern (ie crochet), and it’s sold out, you can order the other (ie knit) & email us that you’d like the other pattern. ***

NOTE: We've had a lot of people reach out - This product is not a finished hat. It is a kit to purchase the yarn & pattern to knit or crochet this hat.

Melt the ICE Hat designed by Paul Neary @Yarn_Cult, “In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design”.

All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to the LynLake community of businesses who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE.

UPDATE - Kit contains 100 grams of red yarn + digital pattern download. If you receive fingering weight, we may have caked it up - you can pull from both ends and knit/crochet with it double to get to a DK/light Worsted weight.  Thank you for your understanding. We have been in touch with Blue Sky Fibers (the makers of Skyland) and it looks like it won't be in stock until April - please know we are curating your order with a substitute that meets the traceability & sustainable standards of all our yarns

Kit contains 100 grams of red yarn and pattern. A digital copy of the pattern will also be sent to your email from Ravelry.
