Unlock the vibrant world of Fair Isle knitting in our Stranded Colorwork Knitting Class! Whether you're an adventurous beginner or a seasoned knitter looking to expand your skills, this class is perfect for you.  

This is a 4 hour class, taught over 2 Saturdays - Nov 9 and Nov 16 - both classes are 10am - Noon.  Please cast on your ribbing before the first class. 

We ask that you purchase yarn from Rabbit Row for this class - there are many to choose from. Stop in ahead of time to pick out your yarn. We'd like you to cast on the ribbing before you arrive for class. 

What You'll Learn:

  • Two-Color Knitting: Explore a couple of ways to knit with two colors.
  • Managing Floats: Discover the techniques for handling long floats to ensure your work remains neat and tidy.
  • Trapping the Yarn: Learn how to trap the yarn efficiently to prevent snagging and maintain even tension.
  • Color Dominance: Understand the importance of color dominance and how it impacts the overall look of your project.

Project: You'll knit a beautiful two-color cowl or neckwarmer, completed just in time for holiday gift-giving. Join us for a fun and informative class where you'll not only complete a stylish accessory but also gain valuable skills to take your knitting to the next level. Pattern included in class fee  

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate

Materials (not included): Two contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn 100 yards of the main color and 120 yards of the contrast color, 16" circular needles sizes 6 and 7 or 8, five stitch markers.

4 Hours of Instruction: 10 AM - NOON, Sat, Nov 9 AND 16

About your instructor: Lisa Marshall is an experienced fiber arts teacher with a certificate in Applied Arts from the Threefold Institute in Spring Valley New York. Since learning to knit at age 8, she has been an avid lover of every kind of fiber craft including knitting, crochet, felting, doll-making, quilting and embroidery. She enjoys sharing these skills with groups of all ages and inspiring her students to experiment, have fun, and make lots of mistakes. She lives with her husband, 2 dogs, 3 cats and a flock of chickens in a big messy farmhouse in Horseheads NY.
