Wet Felted Vessels - Fall FLAIR 2025
Couldn't load pickup availability
Look what you can make with LOTS of dish soap, wool and a kickball!
Play with us and make a wet felted wool vessel at Fall FLAIR! We'll have a variety of wool roving colors to choose from. We scheduled this session for the afternoon so we can continue to work after dinner for anyone who hasn’t finished - Our practice sessions have taken 3-4 hours to complete.
BRING YOUR OWN:
- 2 or 3 good-sized bath towels - don't bring your best; wool dye may run
- 2 hand towels
- apron
- rubber/vinyl gloves - your hands will be wet for hours. I like the "All Purpose Vinyl Gloves" from Wegmans - they have anti-slip texture on the palms that helps with felting.
Your Instructors:
Barb Vassallo from Rabbit Row Yarns & Haberdashery brings decades of fiber arts experience and know-how.
Carissa Schlesinger studied textile design, construction and printing techniques in college. In addition to taking many color theory courses, she gained valuable color development experience by working for a woven textile mill as a designer, and color forecaster. Today she continues to be an avid knitter and maker of textile art.
NOTE: This class is only available for attendees of FLX Arts & Inspiration Retreat & takes place off-site.
