Happy Spring Folks! After a busy winter season at the shop, we are ready to swing open the doors and trade those heavy wools for breezy cottons & linens.
I’m beyond excited by the energy everyone is bringing to our new sewing classes! We are running the Beginner Series again this Spring - be sure to grab a spot if you are interested - it is a prerequisite to upcoming classes and sew-a-longs that we are planning. A HUGE thank you to our instructor, Betz White, for getting us all proficient!
In line with expanding our sewing options, I'm happy to share that Rabbit Row will be adding a pattern projector in the Loft soon. Patterns can be cast right onto your fabric, eliminating the need for paper patterns. This project is made possible in part by the QuickARTS grant program administered by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes and funded by the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc. We will host some open studio days soon where you can test it out with us!
If you have the means, please consider a donation to the Knit for Food Knit-a-thon (link below). Food insecurity affects too many families and elderly neighbors in our communities. No one should have to go without food.
Lots going on in April - read on for more. . .

Yarn Tales Book Club - Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann
🗓️ Meet-up - Thursday, April 30, 6:30pm
Virtual option available - Join with Google Meet
Our Yarn Tales Book Club title is Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann. This isn't your average cozy mystery; it’s told from the perspective of a very clever flock of sheep trying to solve the death of their shepherd, George. Soon to be a major motion picture starring Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson.
We partner with Card Carrying Books & Gifts for our book club purchase - you can also listen through their libro.fm app.
🔍 Bring your current WIP (Work In Progress) and your best theories! We will have cozy beverages and snacks.
Whether you’re halfway through the book or already know "whodunnit," we’d love to have you in our flock for the evening. It’s going to be a wooly entertaining night of discussion!🐑

DONATE TO OUR TEAM HERE
The Knit for food Knit-a-thon is a 12-hour knitting marathon to raise funds for hunger and food insecurity. 100% of funds raised is equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry and Meals on Wheels - organizations that help communities all over the US and the globe. With government funding for many programs in jeopardy, Knit for Food is more vital each year.
Rabbit Row will again host a Knit for Food Knit-a-thon Watch Party Bring a dish/snack to share to keep the energy high and the creative juices flowing. We’ll provide beverages and paper products. Aren't a knitter? ANY portable craft project is welcome!
Can't make it on April 11th? Please consider a donation to our fundraising team at the link below. Knit for Food has raised over $1.7 million in the past 5 years, and we expect 2026 to be a BIG year.

Our Spring Knit-a-Long: The Pelica Vest by Rosa Pomar

Knit seamlessly from the top down, this garter stitch v-neck vest creates a dense, squishy fabric—reminiscent of the warm shearling vests it was inspired by. The design is beautifully framed with i-cord edges all around, giving it a polished, professional finish. With instructions for both a cropped and standard version, it’s the perfect companion for high-waisted trousers or layering over your favorite linen tunics.
Pattern Details:
Techniques: Garter Stitch (that's only knitting, folks!), i-cord edging, and buttonholes. Pro Tip: We are even stocked up on the same classic buttons from the sample—be sure to grab those while you're here!
Recommended 🧶: a worsted-weight, woolen-spun yarn for that authentic, sturdy feel. Try our: Harrisville Highland, Mountain Meadow Cora, or one of our beautiful local yarns!
The Rabbit Row Perk 🎁:The pattern and pattern support are FREE when you purchase your yarn at Rabbit Row! We meet Sunday afternoons during #stitchcorning, but you can cast on whenever you’re ready to get cozy.
Stop by the shop to select your yarn and buttons and receive your pattern today!
