Customize your shoes with natural fiber laces handwoven by you! Each Ladder Shoelaces Kit (See color choices below. There are two color or three color designs) includes the following:
- Step-by-step instructions
- Heddle + shuttle (reusable wood tools to make lots more laces)
- Yarn of a hemp/cotton/modal blend for two laces up to 60" each
- Waist and shoelace tie on cords for the weaving process
- Six metal shoelace ends
- Two popsicle sticks to balance the beginning of your weaving
What is it about Make Your Laces?
It's about the value of something handmade, trying a new craft, and detailing your look. It's about bringing back the weaving arts a little, too.
As a longtime maker I've found weaving small bands or tapes to be fun and quick creative projects. They are compact enough to wrap up and take anywhere and simple enough for grade school children to grasp.
