Handcrafted by Haulin’ Hoof Farm Store
Add a touch of rustic sophistication to your hand-knit sweaters, linen coats, or heritage sewing projects. These buttons aren't just fasteners; they are tiny pieces of art, turned and polished to highlight the natural narrative of the wood.
Why You’ll Love Them:
Sustainably Sourced: Each button is crafted from wood sourced directly from the farm, ensuring a low carbon footprint and a deep connection to the land.
Tactile Finish: Sanded to a glass-like smoothness and finished with natural oils, these buttons feel warm to the touch and glide easily through buttonholes.
One-of-a-Kind: Because of the natural variation in grain and color, no two buttons are identical. Your garment will have a completely unique finish.
Durable Craftsmanship: Built to withstand the weight of heavy wool or thick canvas, these buttons are as functional as they are beautiful.
Maker’s Note: To maintain the luster of the natural wood, we recommend hand-washing garments or removing buttons before dry cleaning. A quick rub with a drop of olive oil or wood balm will keep them glowing for years to come.
Elevate your next handmade creation with a finish that only nature can provide.
From Haulin' Hoof:
Our specialty, and what we enjoy most, is button-making! Our wooden buttons are made using sustainably harvested trees off our land, and the occasional neighboring tree. One by one they're pulled from the forest by horsepower, taken to the farm's sawmill to be turned into lumber, and then kiln dried and processed into button stock right here on the farm. Healthy trees are always left standing, as there's an abundance of fallen, standing dead, and/or diseased trees to select from. A lot of the character you'll find in our wooden buttons, as well as other wood products, is a result of this 'worst first' selection process. Spalting, a form of wood coloration caused by fungi, is an example of this character. Moreover, only natural oils and beeswax are used to finish our wood products, preserving the natural beauty of the wood and providing a safe and healthy alternative to synthetic finishes.
