Add a touch of Baltic tradition to your knitting repertoire! Join renowned instructor Deb Burger for a focused, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to create the stunning Latvian Braid.
While this technique is often seen adorning the cuffs of intricate mittens and sweaters, we’re scaling it down into a stylish, wearable bracelet. This project is the perfect "low-stakes, high-reward" way to master a sophisticated skill that will elevate all your future knitting projects.
What You’ll Learn:
- The Anatomy of the Braid: Understand the mechanics of left-leaning and right-leaning braids to create that iconic "v" shape.
- Two-Color Tension: Tips for managing two strands of yarn without tangling or puckering.
- Seamless Finishes: How to cast on and bind off for a professional-looking accessory.
- Cultural Context: Deb will share insights into the history and traditional uses of this beautiful folk-art technique.
